Walking in the National Parks of Western Andalusia

Walking in the National Parks of Western Andalusia is a journey through the incredibly diverse landscapes and habitats of southern Spain . Though this tour is designed for keen walkers and nature lovers there is  much of cultural and historical interest too, not to mention the regions world class gastronomy.

We use the delightful and historic white villages of Gaucin in Malaga  and Castano del Robledo in Huelva as a base to explore these fabulous protected habitats.

From our base in Gaucin we can access   the rugged karst landscapes of Grazalema and Sierra Las Nieves Natural Parks as well as the extensive oak forests of Los Alcornocales Natural Park,  one of the most biodiverse regions in Europe.

Gaucin is also our base to visit the El Estrecho Natural Park, Spain’s most recent protected space. We explore the park both on land and by boat giving our groups the best chance to witness the annual bird and whale migrations which make the area famous.

We then head on to the Doñana National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of the most important wetlands in Western Europe and a magnet for the regions impressive birdlife.

For the later part of the tour we use the historic village of Castano de Robledo as our base, located within the Sierra de Aracena Natural Park. The Tour will finish exploring the habitats of the Sierra Morrena and the Sierra de Aracena Natural Park, home to the worlds most endangered feline, the Iberian Lynx.

The tour ends in Seville on the monrning of day 8.  The tour includes 7 nights accommodation in  comfortable 3  or 4 star  hotels/guest house depending on preferrence, all airport transfers from/to Malaga and Seville airports respectively, tour leader, all entrance fees and all surface transport during the tour.
